manuel Lutheran School is a nationally accredited school and was established in 1958 to provide a full-time Christian education to families of the congregation and community for over 50 years. Emmanuel Lutheran School is a member of the largest national system of Protestant schools in North America, totaling over 2,800 preschools, elementary schools, secondary schools, and colleges. ELS is operated as a non-profit, church-sponsored educational ministry of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Asheville, NC.
Our school is staffed with Christian teachers. All lead teachers in the Early Childhood Program hold a minimum of an Associates Degree. All teachers in K-8 hold 4-year BS/BA degrees or advanced degrees.

Lutheran Schools Ranked #1 in the Nation!
The NAEP Report, often called the "Nation's Report Card" ranked the Lutheran School system the #1 school system in the country! When compared to public schools, charter schools, and other large school systems, the system of Lutheran grade schools and high schools was ranked the best academic system. Emmanuel Lutheran School in Asheville is proud to be a member of that system. Additionally, a new report by ACT shows that students who attend private schools are significantly more ready for college than students who attend public schools. These are two more excellent reasons to celebrate the great work God is doing at Emmanuel Lutheran School.
