Explanation of Belt Loops and Pins: Tigers, Cubs and Webelos may complete requirements in a family, den, school or community setting. Tiger cubs must work with their adult partners. There are usually only three requirements for a loop. Once they have the loop, they can do 5 more activites to get the pin. Parents can look on the scouting website for criteria for each loop or pin.

Here is a list of Sport and Academic Loops:

Art, Astronomy, Chess, Citizenship, Collecting, communicating, computers, Geography, Geology, Heritages, Language, Map, Math, Music, Science, Weather and Wildlife Conservation.

Badminton, Baseball, Basketball, bicycling, bowling, fishing, flag football, golf, gymnastics, ice skating, marbles, physical fitness, roller skating, snow skiing, soccer, softball, swimming, table tennis, tennis, ultimate, volleyball

Here are two Loops that would be great to do over the break.

Music:

1. Explain why music is an important part of our culture

2. Pick a song with at least two versus and learn it by heart.

3. Listen to four different types of music either recorded or live.

Cubs participating in the school Christmas program will easily achieve this loop.

Bowling:

1. Explain to your leader or adult partner the rules of courtesy and safety for bowling

2. Show how to pick out a ball of proper weight and with finger holes that fit your hand.

3. Play a complete game with your family or den.

Parents: If you have questions about the requirements for a loop, email me. As you complete these loops with your cubs, email me so we can record the progress for the next ceremony.

Dues: Dues are $60 per 12 month year. This money goes toward badges, recognition and activities. You can pay per semester or all at once. Please make checks payable to Emmanuel Lutheran School (memo-Pack 58).

FYI: If anyone is in need of financial assistance or know a boy that may be interested?in Cubs but needs financial help, please contact Robin or Julie. The Council has programs so all boys can participate. They can assist with dues and uniforms.

Attention Adult Volunteers and Tiger Parents: Please complete the "Youth Protection Training" on the Boy Scout website. Go to My Scouting and register, then do the online course. Print out the page that says " Congratulations, you passed" and return it to the Pack.? The website is having problems and won't record the course. So please print out the page. Thanks.

Meeting times will be revisited for the new year. The Pack will do its best to accomodate as many as possible. Individual dens should discuss any desire to change meeting times.
