International Lunches
Italy International Lunch is Friday, December 2nd.
The menus for this upcoming Italy lunch are to go home with the students on Wednesday, November 16th. We revised the menu and it will no longer include the tear off portion for the parents to sign.
We reviewed the previous catered lunches and have concluded that 160 children's portions are sufficient to feed students and staff.
We are looking for a restaurant or caterer who would like to partner with ELS to provide the food for the Mexico International Lunch on January 20, 2012. If you have any suggestions, please let us know!
Thanksgiving Lunch
Elizabeth reviewed the menu for Thanksgiving lunch.
Wendy's Night
The next Wendy's night is Tuesday, December 20th.
 ChristmasStore
The Christmas Store is open Monday, December 12th and Tuesday, December, 13th. Mrs. Schallhorn is going to coordinate with the teachers (K-8) to come and shop on Monday, December 12th. The Preschool will be shopping on Tuesday, December 13th. Volunteers are needed. Please contact your classroom coordinator if you would like to volunteer for the Christmas Store.
Future Fundraiser
Ident-A-Kid : I am waiting for a response from our local Program Director. PTL will have more information at the next meeting.

PTL Meeting

Thank you for checking the PTL webpage!! We will do our best to keep it up to date on the current events PTL is handling and discussing. We encourage you to attend the meetings. The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 14th at 5:30pm.
The following issues were addressed:
PTL is sad to announce that Jackie Westle will not be going forward as PTL president and is stepping down for health reasons.
PTL extends a warm welcome to our new 5th/6th grade teacher, Mrs. Cate. We sent her a beautiful plant arrangement.
International Lunches
India International Lunch
As you know, this year ELS is celebrating an “International Fair”. ELS is partnering with several restaurants in the area to provide our children will a taste of cuisine from different countries. Our September lunch was focused on India. MELA Indian restaurant catered the lunch from Preschool-8th. It was a success!! PTL has purchased purple lanyards and pins that coincide with the country we are sampling. Each child that tries the cuisine from that particular country received a pin. Even children who brought a home lunch were given an opportunity to taste. Most of them did!! J Please encourage your children to try. The lanyards are NOT to go home with the children. If they do, please send them back to school with your child. By the end of the year they will have a collection of pins to keep, and a diverse food palate! Our preschool children had their standard lunch, however the mango and Naan bread was added. They received the India Flag sticker.
Panama International Lunch
The next International Lunch is scheduled for Friday, October 28th. TOMATO COCINA LATINA will be preparing a Panama inspired meal. We will be serving: Arroz con Pollo- seasoned yellow rice with chicken, Yucca – root vegetable similar to potato, Platanos – sweet plantains and orange.
The pins and stickers are ordered.
Italy International Lunch
This lunch has been moved to Friday, December 2nd. FIORES RISORANTE TOSCANA will cater the meal. We will be serving: Penne Bolgnese – penne pasta in a tomato/meat sauce, Veggie Antipasta – grilled vegetables, Pepperoni Bread and Zepoles – Italian mini doughnut.
Elizabeth will be ordering the pins. We have the flag stickers already.
The next meal to plan is Mexico. It is open for suggestions!...
Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest is approaching fast! We still need volunteers for afternoon ticket sales on Wed., 10/19, Thurs., 10/20 and Fri., 10/21 from 2:45-5:30. The Oktoberfest fliers will go home in the white packets on Wednesday, 10/12. We will follow up with an email reminder Tuesday, 10/18. We begin selling food tickets and wristbands on Wednesday 10/19.
Thanksgiving Luncheon
The Italy International meal was moved to December and replaced with a Thanksgiving Luncheon. This will be on November 16th. K-8 will be eating in the gymnasium. PTL will be furnishing the turkey and stuffing. Traditional sides will be donated by school families. Parents are encouraged and welcome to attend. ** More information will follow at a later date.
Preschool Thanksgiving Luncheon will be in the cafeteria. Mrs. Revis will be preparing the lunch. Parents of children are welcome and encouraged also. ** More information will follow at a later date.
Bi-Lo Cards Fundraiser
Cards go home with preschool and k-8 on Wednesday, 10/11.
August Flower Sale
Proceeds went to K-8 teacher wish lists and preschool wish lists. Each teacher received $50.00! The preschool was given a combined $350.00! Thanks for all who volunteered! The teachers really appreciated it.
Wendy’s Tuesday Dinner
Starting on Tuesday, 10/18, Wendy's on Patton Avenue will be donating 10% of all dining room sales to Emmanuel Lutheran School. The school will only get credit if you dine in or go inside and carry out. This promotion excludes drive-thru service and will continue on the third Tuesday of every month. Enjoy a night off of cooking and help support your school!
