mmanuel Lutheran School was established in 1958 and has provided full-time Christian education to families of the congregation and community for nearly 50 years. Emmanuel Lutheran School is a member of the largest national system of Protestant schools in North America, totaling over 2,800 preschools, elementary schools, secondary schools, and colleges. ELS is operated as a non-profit, church sponsored educational ministry of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Asheville, North Carolina.

Our school is staffed with Christian teachers, many of whom are members of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Others are members of Christian churches in the community. All lead teachers in the Early Childhood Program hold a minimum of an Associates Degree. All teachers in K-8 hold 4-year BS/BA degrees or advanced degrees. Teachers are licensed through the North Carolina Department of Education or are presently working toward licensing.
